Expanded summary[]

The episode begins with Chirp looking for Peep. She looks in Peep's Can, but he isn't there. She couldn't find him anywhere, until, she sees some feet underneath a bent down leaf. She finally finds Peep, and Quack as well. It is now Peep's turn to find Chirp and Quack. They both run away and hide. Chirp finds a bat cave and nervously runs inside to hide. Peep starts looking for his friends.

Chirp continues walking and looking around in the bat cave when suddenly, she trips off the edge of a cliff and falls onto the ground below. Before she knows it, she can't go back up to where she came from. She calls Peep and Quack for help.

Peep then finds Quack hiding in a pile of leaves. After finding him, they hear Chirp calling for help. They hear her voice coming from the cave she went in to. Quack smells some delicious flowers near the enterance, and nearly gets sidetracked by them, until he remembers their mission. They walk into the cave, but then fall down the cliff just like Chirp did. As a result, they are all stuck in the cave. Peep finds another way out across the river.

Quack later helps them get across by swimming, and they run into that opening, however, it starts to get darker instead of brighter. They soon meet a sleeping bat who wakes up because of them when Peep says that all 4 of them are lost. The bat tells them to go straight, turn at the dripping water, walk through a mud puddle, and they will see the light. They look for the landmarks the bat told to them, but get lost in the pitch black dark. The bat soon flies to them and tries to make them follow him, however, they get lost again when they couldn't hear the bat's wings anymore. They soon hear water dripping and feel around for a place to turn and go that way. They later find a mud puddle, which Chirp falls into, and gets covered in mud. The bat flies out, and sees that the birds are not behind him. He thinks that the birds found another way out, and goes back to sleep.

Peep, Chirp, and Quack see several openings, and don't know where to go. Quack smells the delicious flowers from earlier, and leads them through the right opening. They continue following Quack through the cave, and Quack continues to smell the flowers and leads them out.

They finally exit the cave, and they cheer as Quack eats a flower, until the bat shushes them. Quack runs away screaming when he realises he is scared of the dark, and Chirp runs away afterwards when she remembers that she is covered in mud. The bat soon flies back into his cave. The episode ends with Peep running home too.
