Expanded summary[]

The episode starts with Peep about to go out of his can when he sees a yellow flower that looks like him so he goes over to it. When Peep arrives at the flower, he finds out that it isn't a little flower close to home, it is a big sunflower far away from home. Peep loves the flower so much that he goes to see it everyday. One day when Peep gets to the flower, he sees a bird who he thinks is hurting it. The bird tells Peep that she is eating the seeds. When Peep tells the bird to be careful because he is worried the flower could break, she says he can grow a new one from a seed and throws one down for Peep to use.

Peep watches the seed at his can to see if a sunflower can get out. Quack arrives and after Peep tells him that a sunflower is in the seed, Quack says a big flower can fit in it. The same bird arrives and after asking if she can have the seed, Peep now sad, lets the bird have it. When Quack tells the bird it wasn't nice to tell Peep there was a flower in the seed, the bird says they have to plant the seed by putting it under dirt and wait for it to grow. Peep puts the seed under the dirt with Quack supervising and they both wait for the flower to grow. Chirp arrives and after Peep tells her what he and Quack are doing, Chirp says seeds can't grow without water so Peep grabs the top part of an acorn, fills it with water from a stream and uses it to water the seed. The birds wait for the flower to grow. After waiting, Quack and Chirp leave, but Peep refuses to give up.

Peep waters the seed and waits for the flower for days. Quack and Chirp think that nothing will grow out of the seed so Quack decides to eat it. When Peep wakes up and finds Quack digging for the seed, Quack tells Peep that it's for his own good. Chirp notices a green thing which makes Peep realize it is from his seed. Peep, Chirp and Quack water the seedling everyday for a long time. The seedling grows into a big giant beautiful sunflower. When Quack claims Chirp wanted to eat the seed, Chirp tells Quack it was him who wanted to. The episode ends with Quack, Peep and Chirp watching the sunflower moving in the wind.
