Newton is a character in the show Peep and the Big Wide World.

Appearance

Newton has a large shell over his back from which his legs, head, and tale, stick out of the openings in his shell. The shell is yellow on the top and dark brown and divided into sections on the bottom. The shell is surrounded by a dark black outline and Newton's four dark green feet stick out of the four holes near the bottom of it.

At the back of the shell, Newton's dark green tail that is pointed on the end sticks out of the hole in the back. Newton's head sticks out of the front of the shell and it, like his legs and tail, are dark green. Newton's neck is long and extends into his head that is oval shaped. Newton's mouth is slightly pointed and his two eyes are placed at the top of his head sticking half on his head. Newtons eyes are white with black pupils and are also oval shaped.

Personality

Newton is a friendly, elderly, curious, and imaginative turtle. Newton rarely ever expresses anger and is sometimes predictable.

Information

Newton made his debut in Springy Thingy but he had no lines in that episode, was unnamed, and appeared only at the end. Newton lives under a crabapple tree which he new since it was a sapling. When Newton walks, he walks very slowly even if he really wants to go somewhere.

Newton is frequently seen sleeping and he frequently eats the apples that fall off his tree. Because of Newton having lived for so long, sometimes Peep, Chirp, and Quack will ask him for advice. Newton is shown possessing the ability to swim and propel himself through water with the aid of his legs. Newton can retract into his shell which he often does when apples are falling off his tree or when he is sleeping.

• Newton is possibly one of the oldest characters in the show.
• Newton is possibly named after the famous physicist Sir Isaac Newton, who came up with his Law for Universal Gravitation after an apple fell on his head from the tree he sat beneath.
