Title card[]

The title card shows Chirp moving the piece of paper from one pile to another.

Condensed summary[]

Chirp starts collecting lots of different things, but it is piled messily, so she tries to sort it more tidily. Eventually though, she gives it all up because it is too much to keep around.

Expanded summary[]

One day, a small strip of light blue paper comes in by the wind. Chirp comes by and discovers it, becoming fascinated by it. She walks by Peep and Quack, who are making footprints in the mud. When she shows them the paper strip, Peep says that he found something like that earlier, which was a button. While the button was round and hard, unlike the paper, it was the same light blue color. Chirp decides to take it, and then finds another paper strip, this time, pink.

Throughout the rest of the day, Chirp begins collecting various things and taking them to her home, putting them all into different piles. Unfortunately, she has so much stuff that it becomes impossible to get to her bush, so she decides to stay with Peep for the night. But while he’s sleeping, Chirp thinks about adding Peep’s can to her collection, either putting it with the metal things or round things. Peep, thinking it’s best to leave the can alone, suggests that she should go sleepover at Quack’s pond instead.

The next morning, Peep comes by the pond just as a rainstorm is starting. Quack then notices that he doesn’t have his hat. Peep thinks that Chirp might’ve collected it. Quack realizes Chirp has been getting a little carried away with her collecting hobby and the two march over to her bush to go talk to her.

Chirp then puts both her friends in her collection, putting Peep in with the yellow things and Quack with the large, blobby things. Chirp then brought over Beaver Boy to make a pile for her friends. Quack, having enough, tells her that she has too much stuff and that her friends don’t belong in piles. Realizing he’s right, Chirp agrees to sort things out while Quack and Peep take Beaver Boy home.

Once they come back, they find out that Chirp hasn’t gotten rid of anything and instead just moved them all around. Quack then finds his hat under a pile of acorns, chestnuts and pine cones and tries to get it out. But when he does, the pile falls on top of them. Chirp finally agrees to get rid of her stuff and Quack gives it to the residents of the big wide world.

Once everything else is gone, all that is left is the blue paper she found at the start. She thinks about starting a new collection, but before she can, Quack immediately eats it up, putting it in the things-ducks-have-to-eat-in-order-to-help-their-friends pile. He burps afterwards and the episode ends there.
