Expanded summary[]

The episode begins with Peep and Chirp sleeping in Peep's Can, until Quack wakes them up to play a game of Bring Spring. Quack also tells them that it won't work if everyone knows about it, so he tries to find a place to secretly play the game.

Quack tries the garden, but there is a worm there. He then tries near a log, but the Skunk is there. Finally, he finds the perfect place. Near his pond since the fish are too sleepy to listen. They start playing, but Quack was interrupted by a groundhog who picks him up and drops him back down. She does the same to Chirp as well. When she picked Peep up, she put him on top of Quack. The groundhog then tells them that she is looking for her shadow, which she doesn't know what it is. Chirp, Quack, and Peep briefly talk about what a shadow is, while drawing examples on the ground, but she couldn't understand them properly.

Peep, Chirp, and Quack later go into a tipped over trashcan in The Dump, and use the flashlight to make light. The groundhog turns around and is amazed to see her own shadow. Chirp asks what is important about a groundhog's shadow, but the groundhog says it is a secret, but invites them to the groundhog meeting since they helped her out.

Later on, Peep, Chirp, and Quack go to the Groundhog Hole with the groundhog, to get to the groundhog meeting. Quack decides to pretend he is a groundhog on the way to the meeting. Later at the meeting, Peep, Chirp, and Quack gets to see all the other groundhogs, talking about something important. The elder leader groundhog then starts the meeting. He starts talking, but Quack stops him and asks him to talk more clearly so he could understand. The elder leader groundhog then says that if the groundhogs see their shadow, it is 6 more weeks of winter, but no shadow, it means spring has begun. He then declares that since nobody found their shadows, then it is finally spring. However, Peep, Chirp, and Quack's groundhog friend objects and tells everyone that she saw her shadow, meaning that it is still winter. Everyone all shows grumpy looks as a result.

Later on, Peep, Chirp, and Quack goes to Chirp's Bush, and discuss about the groundhog's way of bringing spring not being the right way to do it. Peep and Quack then play the Bring Spring game, while Chirp goes to sleep. The episode ends with Peep and Quack playing some more of the game.
